How Would You Describe Your Home Interior Style Emily?

I would say my style is transitional ~ a mix of traditional elegance with contemporary lines. I love to use calming neutrals to create a relaxing environment.

Also, I have a 4 year old daughter so space planning and practicality are also key!

What Would Be Your Advice For Creating An Aesthetically Pleasing Yet Practical Family Home?

‌My advice would be to create a neutral interior and add personality and style through the use of accessories!‌

A neutral base is easy to keep looking nice by touching up where necessary. It also ensures that you never get bored of a colour and find the need to constantly decorate! Instead you can change up a space easily with furniture and accessories.

Always consider your storage space and use clever pieces of furniture to minimise the clutter, and more importantly in a family home, hide away all of the toys!

What Is Your Favourite Room In The House & Why?

‌My bedroom is my favourite room. I work full-time as well as being a mother, so it’s important for me to have a relaxing, calming space at the end of the day!

‌ Again, using some of my favourite neutral colours, along with panelling and a monochrome theme to add that little bit of luxury!

What Do You Like About Your Products From Ruma?

‌I’ll start with the Dragor Storage Box! It’s such a beautiful and unique piece of furniture which doubles up as a side table. I’ve mentioned before that storage is key in my design, to create a practical yet aesthetically pleasing space, so this piece of furniture is perfect!

The Manila rattan table lamp is absolutely beautiful and of fabulous quality. It’s such an eye-catching accessory and I’ve had so many wonderful compliments about it.

The two pieces look beautiful together too!

If you could choose any piece from Ruma what would it be and why?

‌ I absolutely LOVE the Grecia White Boucle Chair. It’s such a stunning, eye-catching piece of furniture! The Boucle fabric remains so on trend and it also looks so comfortable, the perfect spot to enjoy that morning coffee before the rest of the house wakes up!
